New worlds of work - creativity and agility
New office in Leipzig
The new office building in Leipzig will bring the administration for up to 250 employees together in one central location. After a successful appraisal process and a quick building permit within just 3 months, construction on the property with its extensive tree population was able to begin promptly.
The design covers a gross floor area of around 14,500 m², spread over four floors and a basement. The concept focuses on open spaces and multifunctional units, with the emphasis on meeting, exchange and communication. The building’s architecture and modern working environments promote innovation and create new working environments that support collaboration and networking between the divisions.
A central feature of our design is the open atrium structure, which is located in the core of the building and leads upwards through an inviting staircase landscape. The glazed roof allows daylight to stream into this atrium and gives each storey its own shape and vibrancy, creating strong meeting points and visual relationships. The quieter work areas are placed on the outside, while the supporting structure and the core structure with the staircase serve as stable elements and can adapt the modular interior architecture to changing requirements in an agile manner.
On the first floor, the building functions as a community hub, a representative area for communication and exchange. There is a spacious reception area for guests, an in-house canteen and meeting and socializing areas. Flexible working environments are being created on the upper floors, which will sustainably improve core processes and provide space for ideas and knowledge exchange.
The third floor offers communal uses such as relaxation rooms, a gym, a bar and a further co-working space with an adjoining conservatory as an extension area. The extensive green roof is accessible and usable via a roof terrace. All areas are barrier-free. It goes without saying that we attach great importance to sustainability, environmentally friendly construction and the responsible use of resources. The supporting structure and interior fittings of the company headquarters are largely made of wood, and the use of sustainable, recycled materials is a top priority. Solar cells are installed on the façade and roof to generate energy. This design helps to save weight and material, which significantly reduces CO2 emissions. The green roofs and the creation of a public climatic forest support the microclimate and serve as a water reservoir in the city.
Completion is planned for 2025.
