The Red Bulls’ modern and unique training center on Cottaweg, which Managing Director Ulrich Wolter describes as “one of the most dynamic performance centers in Germany”, was completed in 2015. The centerpiece is an 18,800 m² building with a boarding school and hall: an impressive building complex with training, education and accommodation facilities.
In the spirit of corporate architecture, the building develops a clear architectural stance. The individual silver structures hover sharply above the concrete slabs of the first floor. The innovative and technical-looking metal façade made of folded aluminum cassettes reflects the club’s high standards for itself and its athletes. The icon of the red bull in the tilted façade field on the square adds dynamism and power to this claim.
Not far from the Red Bull Arena, a highly professional training ground has been created not only for the professional team, but above all for the youngsters. The building has a double gymnasium, training rooms, an indoor running track and various therapy and changing areas. There are also 30 rest rooms and day rooms for the professional players, a fan and parent café, office space, a modern media center and an underground car park with 32 parking spaces.
The club has created the best possible conditions with the integrated boarding school (50 single rooms) so that the RBL youngsters can optimally cope with the double burden of competitive sport and school. The training ground was also expanded with a covered stand with seating for at least 1,000 spectators.
