New specialist center with DGNB pre-certification

Specialist center including DRIVE-IN ARENA & city garden

15 specialist departments and over 160,000 products can be found in the newly built 18,000 m² BAUHAUS specialist center in the Wiesbaden district of Mainz Kastel. Across the street is the 4,000 m² DRIVE-IN ARENA with separate parking spaces, where customers can easily load building materials and large-volume products directly into their cars. The city garden, which has also been newly built, offers a wide range of plants and tools for the home garden on an area of over 4,700 m². With a total of 330 car parking spaces, ten of which are for cars with trailers and eight with charging stations for electric vehicles, as well as 50 bicycle parking spaces, the newly built specialist center is adequately and diversely equipped, even with high customer traffic.

Sustainable construction measures pre-certified

Comprehensive measures were taken at the new specialist center with the aim of sustainable construction: The roof of the new specialist center will be extensively greened. This protects the building from solar radiation and excessive heating. It also provides a habitat for various animal and plant species in the urban environment. A photovoltaic system on the roof covers a large part of the electricity requirements.

Furthermore, the selection of materials used was tested by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), so that the BAUHAUS Fachcentrum was awarded the DGNB gold pre-certificate.
