Beaming faces at the AOK run
We not only move stones, but also ourselves
We not only move stones, but also ourselves! It has become a tradition for SHA to take part in Dortmund sporting events and fly the flag in bright yellow T-shirts. And so it was that yesterday a good handful of brave and highly motivated SHA employees took part in the AOK company run. In perfect weather, the route went from Phoenix-West along the Elias railroad line and once around Lake Phoenix. We and around 3000 other enthusiastic athletes then ran back to Phoenix Platz against a beautiful industrial backdrop.
After 6.7 km, there were refreshing drinks, beaming faces and lively debates about the race at the after-run party under the historic blast furnace. “As always, it was a lot of fun,” was the unanimous verdict.
By the way: our new home, the Phoenixwerk, is being built on the running track. So we can start right on our doorstep at next year’s AOK run. This is an additional motivation boost…
How nice that the long Whitsun weekend is just around the corner for regeneration. The next sporting challenge is already waiting: at the end of June, three SHA relay teams will compete in the 18th PSD Bank Triathlon – again at the Phoenix Lake in Dortmund Hörde.
