Backnang: Groundbreaking ceremony for Zweiradcenter Urban
New building for the family business
The groundbreaking ceremony has taken place! A new building for Zweiradcenter Urban is under construction in Backnang. SHA authorized signatory Volker Kaminsky and site manager Mathias Haak were on site to congratulate the start of construction and make further arrangements regarding the progress of the project.
Not far from the current location, a new center is being built with a sales area of almost 1,200 m² alone. There are also warehouses on three levels, service and workshop areas and social rooms for the employees.
From the beginning of next year, regular and new customers will be able to browse through the specialist store’s huge selection at the new address.
Everyone is looking forward to the new building. The symbolic ground-breaking ceremony with Stefanie Urban-Häbich and Jochen Urban, the managing directors of the bike store, clearly demonstrated this. “The demands on the bicycle trade have changed enormously in recent years due to the boom in e-bikes alone, and the space requirements have increased,” explains Volker Kaminsky. “The shopping experience and the service concept are also becoming more and more important.”
To do justice to all this, the SHA planning team did a great job. An XL bracket above the inviting main entrance will ensure a harmonious appearance along the street. What’s more, there are also expansion areas on the new site to the south.
Good to know: Just like SHA, Zweiradcenter Urban is a family business steeped in tradition. The current store was also planned by SHA over 20 years ago – and this was also under the leadership of Volker Kaminsky, back then with the previous Urban generation. “It’s a great endorsement of our work when clients commission us again,” says the authorized signatory proudly. Site manager Mathias Haak now keeps an eye on the costs and deadlines on site and ensures that the planning is aligned with the reality of the construction site. We are already looking forward to the opening!
