SHA and the world market leader Murtfeldt Kunststoffe
Bridge between old and new
Murtfeldt products are used wherever packaging, filling and transportation take place. The winner of the Dortmund Business Award 2015 is one of the world’s leading companies in the field of sliding plastics.
The collaboration with SHA began in 2007 with the expansion of a production hall, followed by the addition of a storey and modernization of the administration building. When the plastics manufacturer took over the neighboring former Van Netten chocolate factory, Murtfeldt Managing Director Detlev Höhner commissioned our architectural firm to draw up a master plan to develop an optimal long-term structure for the future use of the 10.5-hectare site.
As a first step, the new Plant II of the subsidiary Murdotec Kunststoffe was built according to our plans in 2013.
We are delighted with the great trust that Detlev Höhner places in SHA in all matters. For example, he was initially surprised by the suggestion to design parts of the new canteen in black. But he let us do it, and the result convinced everyone. “SHA knows how to bring old and new architecture together to create a coherent overall work,” he says.
