Opposite the amateur center, a youth performance center for a total of 22 talented youngsters aged 14 to 18 has been built. It forms the prelude to a western edge of the square, which is clearly different from the solitary timber sports buildings and integrates itself as a residential building in an urban city morphology.
With the constant spatial merging of all important departments from youth to professionals in a common area, the sense of togetherness and future is to be permanently strengthened. Training and education is the central foundation of the club and is moving to the forefront.
Short distances to training and school, the elimination of the transport service for the youngsters and a direct view of the professionals’ training pitches: these are just some of the advantages of the youth training center.
While the dining room and the players’ lounge are located in the introverted inner courtyard and thus form the heart of the building, the individual rooms of the young athletes – which are grouped together in pairs or in threes to form separate living units – are oriented towards the sports facilities of the training center. In this way, they not only focus the young people on the reason for their stay, but also strengthen the forecourt.
