Chocolate factory revitalization: urban master plan
An old chocolate factory in Dortmund’s Brackel district has been transformed into a modern future location for production, trade and logistics:
With the takeover of the old chocolate factory, the Murtfeldt company, as a neighbor, has the opportunity to expand on the existing site in the long term. In the first construction phase, an area of approx. 11,000 m² was modernized for the subsidiary Murdotec according to the latest production standards.
In order to enable implementation in stages, SHA was commissioned to develop a comprehensive inventory and a future-oriented and flexible master plan for the entire area of approx. 86,000 m², in which the necessary infrastructure can be defined at an early stage. At the same time, the greatest possible flexibility is guaranteed for the individual modules in order to be able to respond to future users with appropriate building configurations.
