Design receives special recognition from the jury

Our design for the new EUREGIO office in Gronau is a modern, sustainable and open office building. The aim was to create a place that connects people and ideas and enriches the future EUREGIO quarter.

A central meeting point for the region

The pavilion, which forms a lively centerpiece with the EUREGIO Plaza, opens up in all directions. The plaza itself serves as a marketplace, meeting place and event venue and is complemented by seating steps along the Glanerbach – an attractive place for encounters.

To the west, the design is connected to the existing EUREGIO conference center, while space for future office and commercial areas is planned to the east.

A building for modern working environments

The building is organized around a green inner courtyard, which serves both as a retreat and a meeting place. Transparent façades and open lines of sight promote orientation and encounters. The design offers outdoor-oriented offices in the outer ring, communal areas and quiet zones such as the canteen, terrace and quiet study rooms in the inner ring. Barrier-free planning and the creation of short distances make the office user-friendly.

Focus on sustainability

The competition design is based on a hybrid construction method with a high proportion of wood. Supplemented by green roofs, solar energy and a sophisticated ventilation concept, environmentally friendly and energy-efficient use is made possible.

With this design, we are presenting a forward-looking idea for the EUREGIO – a place that focuses on sustainability and community.

Special recognition from the jury

The jury particularly praised the successful exterior and interior references, which create a high quality of stay through the surrounding facades and the green inner courtyard. The light-flooded architecture also impressed with pleasant conditions for employees and visitors. In addition, the integration into the urban context was rated positively, particularly due to the harmonious design of the square and the further development of the existing tree backdrop.
