The construction of the new Sportcamp Nordbayern not only offers the opportunity to set the course for future sports and training operations in northern Bavaria. Rather, it also offers the unique opportunity to strengthen the tourist attraction of Bischofsgrün as a whole with an inviting and open building structure and a balanced range of sports activities.
In terms of urban planning, the sports camp follows two overlapping principles of organization:
On the one hand, all sports uses are threaded along the newly created sportsmen’s main route, integrate the existing sports uses and can also be accessed very easily and clearly by external athletes. On the other hand, all the accommodation functions are grouped in their individual buildings around the central courtyard, looking down into the valley and coming into visual contact with the village of Bischofsgrün.
