Radwelt Harsefeld: New building

Shopping experience and service concept

In recent years, the product range in the two-wheeler trade has – Keyword: e-bike boom – and the customer’s demand for individual advice, the shopping experience and services has continued to grow. This was also the case in Harsefeld in Lower Saxony: the previous store had simply become too small for these requirements.

The modern new building on the Rümelswiese, on the other hand, is now generously designed. The planning by SHA Scheffler Helbich Architekten has created an efficient world around the two-wheeler that is specially geared to the needs of customers and clients. The areas of assembly of new bikes and repairs and maintenance are separated from each other so that the work processes can be optimally structured. For example, the bicycle reception area with three workstations has its own entrance and its own checkout so that customers can be served quickly.

The new building has a sales area of approx. 1,000 m², workshop and administration areas of approx. 220 m² each and storage space on three levels totaling approx. 2,000 m². There is also the option of extending this space with an extension to the east. So the future is already being considered.

With the new space, the Krusewitz owners were also able to expand their product range. The presentation of the wide range of bikes on the sales floor is now much more appealing than before. Several info points have been set up in the exhibition for detailed consultations.

Test rides and comparisons are expressly encouraged at Radwelt Harsefeld: every bike can be put through its paces on a test track set up on the outdoor area. A slight incline was even integrated into the track to test the engine’s performance.

By way of comparison, the previous store, the former “Zweiradhandel Tobaben”, which had been in existence for over four decades, had a sales area of approx. 280 m², workshop and administration space totaling approx. 50 m² and a directly adjacent warehouse of only approx. 50 m² in Schulstraße in the heart of Harsefeld. The limited conditions and increased demand had made it impossible to continue the business economically.
